The Illinois Soccer Stadium got a taste of the pros on Tuesday as the Chicago Red Stars of Women's Professional Soccer came to town to take on the Illini.

In an exhibition between the Illinois soccer team and the Chicago Red Stars of the newly formed Women's Professional Soccer league, the Illini faced Ella Masar and Mary Therese McDonnell, two graduates of the program who made their way on to the pro team's roster.

In a game that featured a pair of former Illini soccer players returning to their roots, it was only fitting that just after their names were announced, a cloudy sky opened up and two rainbows cast over the Illinois Soccer and Track Stadium.

After one of the most decorated careers in Illinois soccer history, Urbana native Ella Masar has won championships on the international level and was drafted to play for the Chicago Red Stars in the newly created Women's Professional Soccer league.

GLENDALE, Ariz. - The sellout crowd belonged to Mexico.
The game went to the United States, as usual.
Jimmy Conrad scored his first international goal; Landon Donovan converted a late breakaway; and the Americans defeated Mexico 2-0 in an exhibition Wednesday night, extending the dominance of their regional rival.

GLENDALE, Ariz. - American coach Bob Bradley and Mexico's Hugo Sanchez have a sense of urgency as they prepare for Wednesday's exhibition matchup.

Bradley is trying to persuade U.S. Soccer Federation officials to remove "interim" from his title.
